Discover Casasalvo

If you find yourself in the Upper East Side of New York City and are craving a comforting meal with a side of authentic Italian charm, Casasalvo is a must-visit. Tucked away at 1491 2nd Ave, New York, NY 10075, this cozy restaurant offers an inviting atmosphere that feels like a home away from home. Whether you're stopping in for a casual lunch, a family dinner, or a night out with friends, Casasalvo’s menu has something to satisfy every taste.

What stands out immediately when entering Casasalvo is the warm, welcoming ambiance. The restaurant’s interior is charming and intimate, with rustic touches that make it feel like a little slice of Italy right in the heart of New York City. The décor is simple yet elegant, with soft lighting that creates a relaxed vibe perfect for enjoying a delicious meal.

The menu is full of classic Italian dishes, each crafted with care and passion. You can’t go wrong with the signature pasta dishes-each one is made with fresh ingredients and the finest flavors. The linguine with clams is a favorite, featuring perfectly cooked pasta tossed with a savory sauce that balances the sweetness of the clams with garlic, white wine, and a hint of lemon. It’s light, flavorful, and satisfying. If you're in the mood for something a bit heartier, their lasagna is another standout, with layers of rich meat sauce, creamy béchamel, and perfectly melted cheese.

What sets Casasalvo apart, though, isn’t just the food-it’s the experience. The staff are incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, always ready to offer recommendations based on your preferences. It’s clear that the team takes pride in what they do, and that warmth translates into the overall dining experience. From the moment you walk in, you're treated like family.

For those who prefer a more traditional dining experience, there are also a variety of classic Italian antipasti to start your meal. The bruschetta with fresh tomatoes, basil, and a drizzle of balsamic vinegar is a refreshing and tasty way to begin. Or, if you're a fan of seafood, the shrimp scampi is a great option, packed with tender shrimp and a flavorful garlic butter sauce that is sure to please.

As for dessert, there’s no better way to end your meal than with their homemade tiramisu. Light, fluffy, and just the right amount of sweetness, it’s the perfect finish to any meal. Pair it with a cup of rich Italian espresso for a true Italian dining experience.

The restaurant’s location at 1491 2nd Ave places it in a neighborhood that’s perfect for a leisurely stroll before or after your meal. The Upper East Side is known for its upscale atmosphere, but Casasalvo adds a touch of local comfort to the area. Whether you're enjoying a casual lunch or a night out with loved ones, you'll feel right at home.

Casasalvo’s commitment to quality and service shines through in every aspect of your visit. From the carefully curated menu to the attentive service, this restaurant truly stands out. For anyone in the area looking for authentic Italian food, it's a spot that should definitely be on your radar. Whether you’re a regular or a first-time visitor, you'll quickly understand why this hidden gem has earned such a loyal following.

With so many dining options in New York, it's easy to overlook some of the smaller spots, but Casasalvo proves that sometimes, the best meals come from those little local treasures. So, if you’re ever in the neighborhood, don’t miss the opportunity to experience this delightful eatery.

  • Update: i went out of my way to stop by and was so excited because i hadn’t been in a while. Saw they were closed despite their hours with no sign or notification. Wrote them on IG and they told me they’re closed for construction (FYI) and no apology whatsoever. They actually “loved” my comment saying i showed up and it was closed and i was sad. Kind of disappointing response or lack there of. I hope whoever runs their Ig is not someone who works at the cafe or an owner. Love the music, the food is AMAZING and every time we go in there (mostly Saturday mornings) we have such a nice experience with whoever’s working there. Loving that this is becoming our neighborhood spot - highly recommend to anyone in the area. Also PS we are Italian and their stuff is very authentic.

  • Stopped by today for some early morning treats. We had a chocolate eclair, chocolate croissant, and a hot chocolate (yes I love chocolate!). All 3 items were amazing! Super fresh, the employees were so kind explaining all the options to us. Can’t wait to go back and try more of their stuff!

  • Coffee that taste the way it should. I should mention the baba. The secret ingredient is rum. Pairs well with a cappuccino. Might be the only logical choice for mornings. : )

  • I've wanted to try this place since they opened in the UWS. Got two espresso and they were very well made. Unfortunately, the bignè I tried was very dry and definitely not fresh. I'll give this place another try for breakfast.
